Service Description
New Beginnings is a free, 6-week program that utilizes stories, activities, and group discussions to help adults manage diabetes and foster supportive relationships. The program is specially designed to meet the needs of Black adults impacted by high rates of diabetes.

Cancellation Policy
New Beginnings Class Booking Policy By booking a spot in the New Beginnings class, you agree to the following terms: Eligibility: This program is designed for adults (18+) living with diabetes, with a focus on supporting Black/African American communities. Space is limited, and priority will be given to individuals who meet the full program criteria. Attendance Commitment: Participants are expected to attend all 8 sessions over the 6-week program period. Consistent attendance is key to supporting group learning, goal setting, and the positive coping strategies emphasized in New Beginnings. Cancellation Policy: Please notify FIT & NU at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend a scheduled session. Repeated absences without notice may affect your participation status in the program. Participant Surveys: By enrolling, you agree to complete brief surveys before, during, and after the program to support program evaluation. This helps measure the impact of New Beginnings and contribute to improving health outcomes in our community. Confidentiality: All participant information and discussions during sessions will be kept private in accordance with FIT & NU’s privacy policies and the CDC’s program standards. Incentives: Gift cards will be provided for completing required surveys, as outlined during enrollment.
